\u201cIt\u2019s a six second video of people doing random stuff,\u201d I overheard as I was sitting on the bus on my way home from school, \u201cI don\u2019t know why it\u2019s just six seconds but it\u2019s pretty funny.\u201d<\/p>\n

Someone else asked, \u201cWhat\u2019s the app called?\u201d<\/p>\n

Vine.<\/p>\n

I decided to download the app myself to see what it was all about. Little did I know that I was downloading the most revolutionary app ever created. The day I downloaded Vine is one I will never forget.<\/p>\n

Vine was my favorite app when it was still around. I used to spend hours scrolling through the app, watching these six second videos, and I wasn\u2019t the only one. Millions of people used this social media platform to express themselves or get a good laugh.<\/p>\n

Twitter officially shut down Vine on Jan. 17, 2017. The mark it left on the internet is still very relevant to this day. Millions of users saved their favorite vines and some of them have even made compilation videos of their favorite vines, which they uploaded onto YouTube. In fact, all I watch on YouTube is vine compilations.<\/p>\n

If you haven\u2019t heard, Dom Hoffman, one of the founders of the original Vine app, has begun to work on a Vine 2.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m going to work on a follow-up to vine. I\u2019ve been feeling it myself for some time and have seen a lot of tweets, DMs, etc,\u201d Hoffman said in a tweet.<\/p>\n

Community forums, where Hoffman will share updates and receive feedback on V2, were launched on Jan. 17, 2018.<\/p>\n

Hoffman is aiming for three main goals: giving an equal voice to every artist; being as generous as possible to every artist; and fostering a civilized, kind, inclusive, and non-toxic community. The app\u2019s No. 1 rule, according to a draft of its Community Guidelines & Content Policy Hofmann shared on Twitter, is to \u201cBe nice. Don\u2019t be a bully or a creep. If you act like a bully or a creep, we\u2019ll ban you.\u201d<\/p>\n

The official release of the app has been rumored to be sometime in March, but it has not yet been confirmed. Many people are excited for the return of Vine, and it has sparked much conversation online. The announcement of V2 is bringing many people together on Twitter to share their favorite vines and discuss their thoughts on the app. I know I\u2019m excited just to have the app back to enjoy vines, and not have to watch hour long compilations on YouTube.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
