Reckless Reminiscence

As a child, I found myself running home with bloodied knees and skinned palms far too often,

But I learned a trick to numb the pain.

If I bit my finger, I temporarily forgot the real reason as to why I was aching.

Needless to say,

I still bite my finger when the thought of you crosses my mind.
