A TED-Ed Club started at Indian Trail on Sept. 28, in which students watch TED style talks and discuss the ideas presented. This club will be meeting every other week on Mondays from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. in the library but may change those times depending on how often the students would like to meet.
Shawna Ward, library media teacher, has started this club hoping to learn along with the students.
The goal of this club is to help students with their ability to do presentations to a small audience. This will also help students with any visual presentation methods they could use, such as storyboarding, character design, and stop motion animation. The students can present any school appropriate ideas that they have. TED talks have a variety of ideas so almost anything is an option to discuss. Whether it is about how people act or something involving technology and science, it can be up for discussion.
There are other TED-Ed clubs around the world so they are able to connect with our club to share and spread all of our ideas. So come join the club and learn about ideas from your classmates and share some of your own ideas. And remember, as TED talks slogan says, “Ideas worth sharing.”
