Rodriguez was born on January 7, 1991 in Newark, New Jersey to an African-American mother and a father of half Puerto Rican and half African-American descent. She had wanted to become an actress since the age of 7 and began pursuing the profession at the age of 11. Mj Rodriguez is an actress and singer known for her breakout role as Blanca Rodriguez-Evangelista in the hit FX drama, Pose, where she is among the largest cast of transgender actresses to be starring in a scripted show.
