Born in South Korea in 1994, HoYeon Jung was once known for her red hair and fiery personality, but now she is known as ‘067’ in the high rated Netflix series called Squid Game. Jung started modeling at age 16 and was a runner up in the 2014 season of Korea’s Next Top Model.
She started acting when she felt her modeling career was ‘declining’ and has acted in films since 2013. Jung made her international modeling debut in 2016 for Louis Vuitton. After her role in award winning Netflix series, Squid Game, her popularity in America has skyrocketed. She has been in interviews with Vogue and has done many other modeling and interviews with other publications.
During the 28th annual Screen Actors Guild (SAG) awards in 2022, HoYeon Jung was awarded for ‘Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series’ for Squid Game. During a Teen Vogue interview about the show she said, “I never expected this sort of thing to happen so I think the biggest emotion that I’m feeling is that I just can’t believe it. I’m trying to see people that are very close to me so that I can stay [grounded] and I don’t get carried away because of this.”
