Top Teams of F1
Lando Norris has done it again winning his third race. McLaren as a whole, did amazing on Sunday as the team’s other driver, Oscar Piastri, made it to third place. Max Verstappen trailed behind Norris at 20.945s in second place. He leads the Driver’s Championship by 52 points at 331 while Norris is at 279. McLaren leads by 41 points at 516, and Red Bull second with 475. Ferrari is not far from McLaren trailing by 34 points at 245. It’s close this year between the drivers and will only get closer. They’re on their second mid-season break with F1 returning for the United States Grand Prix in four weeks.

Verstappen vs the FIA
Max Verstappen has been getting into a stir with the FIA off the track. He has recently been protesting press interviews after being punished to do a public work of interest after swearing on live television. He hasn’t answered any of the questions being asked and says he would rather ask them outside the room where he wouldn’t be on live TV anymore. Lando Norris and Lewis Hamilton both have backed Max about swearing with Lewis saying, “I think it’s a bit of a joke, to be honest; this is the pinnacle of the sport, mistakes are made.” Hamilton also said he should refuse the punishment that he has been given. As long as the no-swearing policy remains, Max will only be answering questions from outside the press rooms.
Daniel Riccardo’s last race?
This may have been the last we will see of Riccardo in Formula One, as emotional as it was; he was not going out without a fight. Daniel was voted Driver of the Day winning best lap, stopping Lando Norris from getting a Grand Slam. Everyone gave him their well wishes and goodbyes at the end of the race, even Lando Norris. Riccardo is unlikely to return to an F1 seat next season and will likely be dropped for the rest of the 24-25 season. In the 1-on-1 interview after the race, Riccardo expressed his feelings about it. “…Maybe the fairy tale ending didn’t happen, but I also have to look back on what it’s been, 13 or so years. I’m proud,” Daniel said. He also got asked why he stayed in the cockpit so long after the race. He said, “…a flood of emotions and feelings and exhaustion. The cockpit is something I got used to for many years. Just wanted to savor the moment.”
