Every year Feb. 14 marks the day couples go out of their way to make their significant other feel special. But what if you are riding solo, a lone wolf? How do you manage to make yourself feel atop of the world on a holiday marketed to pairs?
Your first step is to stay at home. There’s no need to go out and see couples enjoying one another’s company. Make sure you’re we
aring something cozy, since you have no one to snuggle with and have to depend on yourself to keep warm. Sweaters have been proven to be really great substitutions for hugs and cuddles. Some people even consider sweaters to be blankets with sleeves. Grab your favorite ice cream or whatever food you really like to eat. It’s typical to use ice cream, something is just so comforting about frozen milk and cream, when you are lonely.
Now plop down on a couch, or your bed, maybe even the floor. Turn on the TV or your computer and entertain yourself. Watch your favorite movie, or browse the web. Buy yourself something nice, maybe even order yourself a bouquet of flowers.
If, for some reason, you grow tired of being alone on a holiday designed for two, call up a fellow single friend and hang out with each other. Just because Valentine’s Day is designed for couples doesn’t mean single people have to be lonely and miserable. If anything, treat Valentine’s Day like it’s any other day. Go out and have fun or stay home and relax. Whatever satisfies you, just do it, but be sure it’s legal of course.
