Taco Bell has taken a big leap forward and has decided to add a brand new breakfast menu. Taco Bell’s breakfast debut was on March 27, adding choices to their menu containing classic breakfast tastes such as sausage, bacon, hash browns, waffles, and more. Taco Bell serves breakfast from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m., a half an hour longer than their leading breakfast competitor, McDonald’s.

Taco Bell featured a new ad with 25 people by the name of Ronald McDonald confessing their love for Taco Bell’s breakfast. In response to this, McDonald’s is offering small cups of McCafe coffee for free from March 31-April 13 during breakfast time to encourage customers not to stray to Taco Bell.

The most anticipated waffle taco — a waffle with scrambled eggs, bacon or sausage, and maple syrup —has been added to the menu. Some other additions to the menu are the A.M Crunchwrap, A.M grilled taco, and Breakfast Burrito. Detailed descriptions and pictures of Taco Bell’s new products are available on Taco Bell’s official website, www.tacobell.com. Tropicana Orange Juice and Premium hot coffee are two traditional breakfast drinks that were added to the breakfast menu. Adding a breakfast menu adds a whole new meaning to what it means to eat at Taco Bell, and in turn will attract more customers.

Boshi Bolton, a junior KMA student, says he will be eating Taco Bell exclusively for their breakfast food.

“I’m not a fan of Taco Bell but that is some serious break- fast food! I would eat their breakfast exclusively,” said Bolton.

Raisa Ahmed, a Biotech- nology Academy senior, feels that Taco Bell breakfast
is a good idea taste

wise and financially. “A waffle taco doesn’t sound too

bad actually.

It’s a decent enough idea to make money for their com- pany,” said Ahmed.

Some students feel that Taco Bell’s breakfast can’t compete with McDonald’s.

Andrew Auyeung, a Bio- technology Academy senior, thinks that the fast food Mexi- can restaurant just isn’t a right fit for breakfast foods.

“I can’t really see tacos as a breakfast food honestly. I don’t think people are trying to get tacos in the morning as much as a McMuffin,” said Auyeung.

However, he will give the waffle taco a chance.

“I would try a waffle taco but it sounds eh,” said Auy- eung.

While Taco Bell is defi- nitely thinking outside the bun with their unique waffle taco, it also seems that some stu-

dents are skeptical that they could ever live up to the glori- ous breakfast served at Mc-

Donalds.
