The girls soccer team is officially off and running. Last season the team only lost Mady Reidlinger and Melissa Weyand to graduation, so the team is still youthful with a ton of experience.

Last year the team went 8-13. At press time, this year’s team tallied an improved record of 8-7- 0 and was tied for second place in the conference. The Hawks look to continue improving and make a move in the conference standings.

Melody Daghfal and Emma Dalton returned from last year and lead the team in the middle of the field, while Sarah Amburn is one of the best goal scorers in the conference playing forward. Behind them goalie Sara Klimisch leads the conference with 56 saves..

“We just want to improve every day and become better players,” said Daghfal.

With many of games coming up, the team looks to continue to improve and make a deep playoff run. They will have to run through Kenosha Tremper and Racine Horlick as the two top teams in conference. Horlick won the conference last season.

“As long as we keep getting better and working hard, we can compete with anyone,” said Daghfal.
