Community kids perch on Santa’s lap

Last Saturday, Dec. 11, marked Indian Trail’s annual Santa’s Workshop, put on by the Student Council.  This year, Santa’s workshop consisted of holiday themed games including Pin the Nose on the Rudolf and Present Bowling, pictures with Santa, free refreshments, a variety of family craft activities, and the The Pulse’s Blazin’ Bean Coffee Cart.

“This year went really well,” said Student Council Adviser Michelle Callan. “It’s gotten bigger every year.”

This year’s event was the biggest yet, drawing in roughly 300 people from the Kenosha community, Callan said.

Members of Student Council were busy throughout the day, running the games, assisting with crafts, serving food and beverages, shooting children’s photographs with Santa, and awarding prizes for game play. The event was held in the school’s main commons areas, which students transformed with a variety of holiday decorations.

“I think it went well,” said Cody Dunnington, Student Council vice president. “We had a lot of community kids come in and have a good time. We had a lot of good games that were enjoyable.”

At the end of this year’s event, the man in the big red suit took his sleigh back to the North Pole to get ready for the holiday season, so get your milk and cookies ready and expect him to be sliding down your chimney.
