On Nov. 6, The Peanuts Movie came out in theaters, raking in $45 million during its opening weekend, according to forbes.com. The movie is based on the comic strip, Peanuts, which ran from 1950 to 2000.

The Peanuts Movie is about a young boy named Charlie Brown, who always manages to mess something up, at least in the eyes of the other kids. When a new girl with red hair moves to town, she’s all Charlie Brown can think about, and he’d do anything to get her to notice him.

Meanwhile Snoopy, his dog, finds a typewriter and starts writing a story about a World War I flying ace and a pink poodle named Fifi. But of course the notorious Red Baron comes to ruin their romance.

The movie is very adorable and nostalgic to those who grew up reading the comic strips or watching the specials every holiday. It includes many recognizable scenes such as Snoopy’s flying dog house, Lucy freaking out over being licked by Snoopy, and of course the famous football scene.

The animation is very interesting. While being more 3D, the animators include the pencil appearance in objects such as smoke and the lines when the bird, Woodstock, flies. They also include the original comic style in various ways such as inside thought bubbles and at the very end.

Overall the movie is hilarious and had the whole theater laughing at points. People of all ages came to see it, and when leaving, a couple even said that they thought they were the oldest couple there without kids. Everyone should go see The Peanuts Movie.
