Here at Indian Trail High School and Academy, there is a lot of pride and respect. One teen the Kenosha Military Academy, which is made up of about 200 students, is really proud of, is its Cadet of the Month. This month, the KMA would like to recognize Caleb Cline as Cadet of the Month, an award presented to the cadet who has shown the most outstanding qualities for future leadership positions.

To reach this achievement, cadets must be nominated by their company commander and 1st Sergeant. In this case, Bravo’s company commander Jacob White and 1st Sergeant Marquis Callaway. The nominations go to Command Sergeant Major John Benkovich to be approved, then the nominees go before the board to be interviewed. While what goes on in these interviews is confidential, Benkovich says cadets should prepare for opinion-based questions and a test of their quality of character.

White has always been confident in his choice, saying Cline “excels past all the other kids.”
“[He] always participates in class,” added Callaway.

Cline, a ninth grader in the Bravo company, plans to go to a ROTC college after high school.
