The long awaited reboot of the Star Wars franchise flew into theaters on Dec. 18, and it was a hit. Star Wars: The Force Awakens was a box office hit with $529 million dollars. Fans young and old came to see the the new addition to the franchise and a good time was had by all.
The movie takes place after the original Star Wars movies in 1977. That being said, it was very easy to follow along and seeing the rest of the movies are unnecessary. New and lovable characters are introduced alongside the characters from the 1977 original Star Wars. While the plot twists are somewhat unsurprising, the story was still deep and interesting. The graphics are amazing and are so much fun to watch. The acting done by Daisy Ridley (Rey),
John Boygega (Finn), and Adam Driver (Kylo Ren) is engaging. This is just an all around good movie.
If you are looking to jump into the Star Wars universe without watching the other two trilogies, this is the movie to do so. Everything basic to the universe – the force, what a jedi is, who’s who – is explained, nothing is left for newcomers to question.
Star Wars: The Force Awakens is a great movie to go see with friends, family, your significant other, your fellow sci-fi lover, your fellow sci-fi hater. Just go see it. This movie will have you sitting on the edge of your seat. I give this movie a five stars out of five.
