Live carefully, life is fragile

Life is precious and fragile. We have this one life and it could end at any moment. You may feel invincible right now, but tragedies do happen and we are never prepared for them.

I’d like to share a recent event that my family went through. Shortly before winter recess, my cousin went through the heartbreaking loss of her fiance. In short, he had a seizure while driving and crashed. He was briefly on life support, and then was gone. Just like that, 26 years of a life vanished in an instant. No one saw this coming, no one could have predicted it.

We tend to live in the mindset of “those things won’t ever happen to me,” until they do. And I promise you, they do happen. There’s nothing wrong with living life to the fullest and taking some risks, as long as you’re doing everything you can to keep yourself safe. Every now and again, we all need to take a step back and breathe for a moment. Remember who you are.

Remember your dreams and your goals and who you aspire to be. Now take that, and hold onto it. Do not forget to value yourself. Do not forget to take care of yourself. Drive with care, eat more vegetables, wash your hair. Enjoy every single one of your days, but don’t forget that you’re only human.
