Zootopia teaches kids to never give up on dreams

Zootopia is a Disney animated movie that was released on March 4, 2016. The movie features a world where animals have evolved to form human-like civilizations, and predators and prey can get along. It begins with a small little bunny named Judy Hopps, who dreams of becoming a police officer so she can make a difference, but there’s never been a bunny cop before, so she intends to be the first.

Judy makes it through her training and becomes a cop, thrown in the center of Zootopia, a place where anyone can be anything. While being assigned parking duty, she meets a sly fox, Nick Wilde, who ends up helping her with her big case to find Mr. Otterton. But instead of finding him, they uncover an even bigger case.

The movie is overall really good. The characters are cute and funny, and the plot has a lot of twists and turns to

it. There was even a moment when most of the theater jumped from being scared. Throughout the whole film, storytellers emphasize that you should never give up on your dreams, even if they seem impossible, which is a really good message for kids to hear.

One could even argue that there’s a lesson on profiling and racism within the film. At one point, all the prey animals turn against the predators, causing them to lose their jobs and feel terrible. When the movie first started, I knew it would be good right away. I’ve always been one for Disney animal movies, and this one was no disappointment. I really enjoyed the whole idea of a small bunny with big dreams and being told she could never accomplish them. It’s very relatable.

Zootopia is a great movie and if Disney were to make a sequel, it would success as well.
