Winter Sports look ready to soar into season

BASKETBALL

The Hawks Basketball program is shooting for a successful season this year, with the girls varsity lead by Coach Sean Brady and the boys by Coach Al Anderson.

Highlights from the girls 2015-2016 season included victories over Tremper Trojans and the Bradford Red Devils, which are their biggest rivals, and a final season record of 9-13. They also had a victory against Racine Case with a close score of 79-75.

The boys team had a record of 10-12 in their 2015-2016 season. Last season included a take down of the Trojans with a mighty score of 83-61, but the Hawks fell short to the Red Devils.

Coaches and fans are looking forward to a great season for both the girls and boys team. The wrestling season is fast approaching and Indian Trail is ready to see another ex- citing year. Wrestling has been one of the most anticipated winter sports. Players ended the 2015-16 season with a 10-12 record and with two of wrestlers, Jose Rodriguez and Jacob Simar, who qualified for state.

Coach Jameel Massouh has returned to coach this year’s IT wrestling team.

Upcoming home matches include one on Thursday, Dec. 15, against Case High School, another on Thursday, Jan. 5, against Franklin High School, and another on Thursday, Jan. 26, against Oak Creek High School.

Varsity and junior varsity matches begin at 7 p.m..
