Making the grade: Game time, frozen custard goes to Indian Trail freshmen who earned average or better grades

About 240 freshman students who had C’s or above were treated to free Culver’s custard and numerous games during seventh period on March 23.

The newest and most pop-ular game was Gaga, which is a fast-paced, high-energy sport played in an octagonal pit, said Andy Atkins, Indian Trail High School & Academy activities director and dean of students.

The more players the better! he said.

Dubbed a kinder gentler version of dodge ball, the game is played with a so foam ball, and combines the skills of dodging, striking, running, and jumping, while trying to hit opponents with a ball below the waist. An ITHS&A student made the wooden Gaga pit and rolling storage container in only two days.

Students had a blast! Atkins said.
