The Kenosha Combined Gymnastics team had a stellar season. They were undefeated for the most part of the season and qualified for the state meet as a team. The team landed second at sectionals and then competed at the Division 1-State Meet in Wisconsin Rapids and placed second.
Molly O’Boyle, a club competitor of 14 years and Tremper High School senior, also had a great season with some of her own accomplishments.
“I’m most proud of my performances at state, both my junior and senior year, and for setting the state record on vault of a 9.9,” said O’Boyle, who competed in four individual events at state including uneven bars, beam, floor and vault.
But like every athlete, gymnasts go through their own personal obstacles.
“I have faced a lot of challenges such as injuries, mental blocks, and a very busy schedule. Although it can be very difficult to push through these obstacles, I know that I would not be the gymnast that I am today without them. The support that my parents, teammates, and coaches helped me through it all,” O’Boyle said.

Finding out the girls were advancing to state came as no surprise to Head Coach Nikki Cooper.
“These girls are talented and work hard for what they want. They deserved to be at the state meet and they did a great job. We are very proud of what they have accomplished this season,” Cooper said.
