Early glimpse of Lil Wayne’s latest album suggests big hit

The most anticipated album of the summer is Lil Wayne’s The Carter 4. It was first slated to be released May 17, but due to Lil Wayne’s perfectionist ways, he pushed it back to make finishing touches. The new release date is June 21.

Pushing the date back has made the album even more anticipated than ever before. Only a few singles have been released to the public. Lil Wayne reportedly wanted the album’s tracks to be frozen shut in order to keep tracks from being leaked out which would spoil the album. Tracks like 6 Foot 7 Foot featuring Cory Gunz and John (if I die Today) featuring Rick Ross are the only singles released so far.

Judging the quality of the two tracks, audiences will get a variety of styles on the album. 6 Foot 7 Foot is a fun summer song that has a hint of the pop genre. John (If I Die Today) however is very different from 6 Foot 7 Foot . It has strong hip hop flare to it and contains strong adult themes that is not recommend for young audiences.

The Carter 4 has a lot of features as well. Artists like Jay-Z, Kanye West, Rick Ross, Tech N9ne, Eminem, Gucci Mane, Drake and others make appearances on the album.

The Carter 4 is under a lot of pressure. Lil Wayne’s last album release was in 2008. He took a break and focused on being the CEO of his record company Young Money. He branched out and helped the artists on his label make a name for themselves. Such as Corey Gunz and Lil Twist.

Many want to Know if Lil Wayne can top his previous album The Carter 3. It made history selling over 1.5 million copies in its first week of release.

But with Lil Wayne’s consistent changing of style, he will still have success.   His wide variety of fans have posted all over Twitter their excitement for the upcoming album. His fans have not even heard the album but they are still willing to spend their hard earned cash on his cd.
