I get asked why I smile or laugh so much. Much like Buddy the Elf and Dory, I enjoy smiling and spreading positivity. I don’t smile because I feel obligated or forced too. I smile because I am extremely blessed with the life I was given.
Perhaps you should consider smiling too. If you can’t think of a reason, here are a few.
.) Smile because thousands of trees start growing every year because of squirrels who forgot where they put them. That’s quite nuts if you ask me.
.) Smile because somewhere in the world a baby is discovering bubbles for the first time. Take a moment and imagine how cute that is. Now continue reading.
.) Smile because I’m sure you have amazing friends in your life that you consider your second family. I know I do. Thanks guys.
.) Smile because if you’re a dog owner I guarantee they’re waiting for you to get home. Don’t worry Chubbs, I’ll be home soon.
.) Smile because even our planet smiles. The world starts the day with a sunrise and ends with a sunset. I would say that’s the best smile, though it could also be my bias showing because I happen to really enjoy watching the sunrise.
.) Smile because acts of kindness improve health. Performing an act of kindness lowers your blood pressure and improves your overall health. You may ask “What’s the easiest act of kindness?” Well of course it’s smiling.
.) Smile today because maybe the cute barista you admire everytime you walk in Starbucks made your coffee and put extra caramel inside it for you. Hey, a girl can dream right?
.) Smile because one day you will make an impact in this world. It will be good too. You will have that day where everyone who tried stopping you will fall underneath you.
.) Smile today because there is no one else like you in this world, and if you ask me I think that’s pretty awesome. There is only one of you in this entire universe, so be good to yourself.
.) Smile today because there will never be another day like today. So congratulate yourself because you made it. Good job. Now go eat some ice cream because you deserve it.
.) Smile because you mean something to this world. You matter. Period.
.) Smile today because you’re loved. Each day brings new challenges, but each day also brings an opportunity to love. Allow yourself to be loved and allow yourself to love, it’s what drives the world and it’s what’s going to change it.
.) Smile today because you soon will become appreciative of the little things. The glass is half full instead of half empty. Always remember that.
.) Smile today because you have hope and faith in the future. Some days may feel hopeless. Trust me I know. But seize those moments and take action. I guarantee you’ll have a better attitude if you take the chance.
.) Smile because you have people in your life who love and support you. Thanks Mom and Dad, I appreciate you guys so much. If not, believe in yourself, because the only one who will be able to achieve something will be you. Believe in yourself because you can do it.
.) Smile because cheesy jokes make everything more bearable. Why did the frog cross the street? It was stapled to the chicken. I bet you didn’t see that coming, did you? Shout out to Mr. Savaglio.
.) Smile because sending someone a quick appreciation text message or phone call will make their day so much better because of you. It will probably spark something inside them and pass on the positivity.
.) Smile because you saw that cute old couple eating dinner together in McDonald’s enjoying each other’s company. Because it may have given you a glimpse of hope for your love life. That someone will come.
.) Smile because driving in the summertime with your friends while the music is blasting is probably one of the best feelings. The feeling of freedom and sense of security because you come to appreciate the little things.
.) When life gives you a 100 reasons to cry, show life that you have 1,000 reasons to smile. Face your past without regret. Handle the present with confidence. Prepare for the future without fear. But most importantly keep the faith. I know you’re thinking that’s so ‘cliche.’ You’re right. But yet I know you’ll still think about it, so that’s why I said it.
Thanks for reading this, and if it didn’t make you smile, well, then I guess you’ll just have to go find another terrible joke.
