Some people believe that love is a waste of time since they’ve been hurt by love before and think they’re going to get hurt again. Just because you think love seems to hate you and you want to give up on it, doesn’t mean you should ever give up on love because it’s everywhere. Everyone needs it, and everyone craves it. Love is never a waste of time because with love and passion you can do anything and make so many wonderful memories.
The moment you start to actually love someone just for the sake of love, it becomes the beauty in your life, it will take you to places you have never imagined. You will become more in love with yourself and happier as a person in general. Perhaps we’re all blind to the fact that we’re rushing to find “true love” and we have forgotten that we don’t decide when true love will happen or who it will it be with.
Love is good for you and your well being, according to New York University’s Langone Medical Center study from 2014. An analysis of surveys of more than 3.5 million American men and women found that happily married people, regardless of age, ethnicity, and sex had a significantly less chance of having any kind of cardiovascular disease than those who were single, divorced or widowed.
Furthermore, researchers at the University of Iowa found that ovarian cancer patients with satisfying relationships had stronger white blood cells, which kill cancerous cells, than those who didn’t have any healthy relationships.
“If it’s true and sincere love, it would never be a waste of time. When you truly love someone, every moment you share with him or her is magical,” said Lisette Marquez, an Indian Trail High School & Academy student.
A couple of students shared the same opinion as Marquez, but one IT junior stood out.
“Love is a waste of time. You think you’re falling in love but then the person you’re falling in love with proves you wrong. You are alone like always with time being your worst enemy,” he said. But what this student doesn’t understand is that, yes, love can be difficult sometimes, but once you meet your significant other, that’s when you’ll realize that love, indeed, isn’t a waste of time.
So this Valentine’s Day go find someone to share love with or just simply go out and have a good time. You’ll certainly feel good, and who knows, it might help you change your definition of love.
