I’d like to start by saying iCarly is the original. iCarly is iconic. The show is known for all its fun characters, and the best part is everyone brings something different and unique to the show.
The characters of iCarly grew up with us. Freddie (Nathan Kress), cute as a button, grew up to be a handsome hunk. Carly (Miranda Cosgrove), so sweet and young at the start of the show, grew into a woman. Sam (Jennette McCurdy) is just Sam throughout the entire series, getting arrested for silly things, and then there is her mad obsession with ham or anything containing meat. My personal favorite character, Gibby (Noah Munck), starts as this very shy boy who loves taking off his shirt, but as the seasons progress, he grows up into this very odd character, which fits perfectly for the show.
And last but not least, there is Spencer (Jerry Trainor), another one of my favorite characters, with his crazy art sculptures or wacky ideas that take him on new adventures every episode. Spencer, who has the role of the big brother and everyone’s best friend, makes the show.
iCarly is basically about a bunch of best friends who run a web show in Seattle. The show ran for seven successful seasons, and I’d also like to state that iCarly had a plot to its ending unlike Victorious which just ended. Cut off.
Who else wanted Carly and Freddie to be together? I had big expectations for that couple, but the producers had different plans. They put Freddie and Sam together. Were they crazy? Throughout the entire series Sam and Freddie practically hate each other, but I guess it’s true when they say opposites attract.
Something I will always remember from this TV show is that your friends can become your family. Watching all the characters become best friends over the series was really cool. They start off as freshmen in high school, not really comfortable with each other, and by the next season you see Gibby running around with his shirt off, again.
Watching these characters grow to love each other is what made me love the show. Because if you have love, you have everything.
