On the boys side, they are currently sustaining a 10-6 record (6-4 in conference) and have won three of their last five matchups.
Maintaining a consistent influx of communication on the court has aided the team’s recent success, which is evident in the team’s record.
“I feel like our communication is good,” said Jeremiah Suber, a guard on the boys’ varsity basketball team. “It really helps in key situations when we either need a defensive stop or a quick bucket to gain the lead.”
Along with verbal connections among Indian Trail’s players, the team takes an abundance of pride in its ability to have tunnel vision mentality come game time. This bodes especially well when the team isn’t favored in the matchup.
“Something the team has been able to do really well, ignore the outside noise and win really huge games despite being the underdog,” said TJ Bradford, a forward on the boys’ varsity basketball team.
With any season though, there are a few setbacks.
“I think the main struggles are just playing down to competition when we know we can blowout other teams,” said Suber.
Overall, the boys have shown enough favorable performances to trump the poor ones, and their results have them shooting high when it comes to their end-of-season goals.
“The main goal of this year is to make a run for state,” said Bradford, a General Studies senior. “We feel like we have the talent and experience to do it this year.”
