Last month, one of the top collegiate choirs in the nation, Luther Nordic Choir from Deco- rah, Iowa, hosted the Dorian Choir Invitational here at Indian Trail High School & Academy. Southeastern Wisconsin high school choirs such as Indian Trail, Muskego, Waterford,

and Tremper performed individually and as well combined choirs to perform.
“The Luther Nordic Choir is one of the most famous in the country and they have a long history of being one of the best,” said Matt Wanner, Muskego Choir Director. “With the choirs that are here, we are just so honored to sing with them. Great singers coming together.” The collegiate choir performed a total of four songs and the high school choirs performed two. All songs were filled with meaningful backgrounds conducted by detail-oriented music directors.

“I’m really excited to hear the college because they’re really advanced,” said Indian Trail senior Emersen Smith. “I think it will be cool because that’s what Mr. Choi bases a lot of our stuff on.”

Wrapping up the concert, all high school choirs combined performing one light-hearted and one upbeat song which ended the night with a standing ovation from the audience.

“This is a time for my students to hear arguably maybe one of the best choirs in the world and I’ve been telling them they’re great, but I don’t think they have any idea,” said Polly Amborn, Tremper Choir Director. “I’m excited for them to get to hear that, but I’m also excited for them to get to lend their voices to the combined choir and get that experience too.”
