Indian Trail High School & Academy’s 2020 Talent Show Feb. 20 was filled with a variety of amazing acts such as step dance, comedy, and covers that involved backwards piano playing.
ITA senior Joseph White took third place for his original rap that commented on today’s youths’ obsessive use of social media. Instead of judging others, we should find what truly makes us happy and break free of our mobile device’s hold on our lives, White suggested.
The student band Dry Bones, who had their trumpist quit within the first 10 seconds of playing “Fortunate Son” before admitting that they desperately needed him, came in second place. The band then proceeded to lure him back and finish the act by playing “I Want You Back” by Michael Jackson, a fun twist to just doing a normal cover of a song. It was the second consecutive time they placed second in the show.
Finally, Caitie Perry captured the top spot after she sang an original song she wrote for her girlfriend, who was in the audience, titled “Forever and Always.” It was her girlfriend’s first time hearing the song. Perry placed first.

The band Dry Bones took second place performing “Fortunate Son.”
