Where the Avengers are out saving the world, the agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. are there to clean up the mess. The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., the television series, focuses on a team led by Agent Coulson, who viewers thought died in The Avengers, but was saved by S.H.I.E.L.D. (the Strategic Homeland Intervention, Enforcement and Logistics Division) for unknown reasons, along with other agents that were handpicked by Coulson. The television series was created by Marvel to help fill in the gaps between Avenger and other Marvel movies. The show helps explain the aftermath such as the battle of New York, when the aliens fight the Avengers. They have to round up the criminals that got the technology during that battle. The show makes a lot of references to the comics and the movies. They even have cameos of the Lady Sif from Thor, the Extremis technology spawn from Iron Man 3 and after Captain America 2 when S.H.I.E.L.D. was broken apart by Hydra Agents. The Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D felt the effects of that movie when they find out the Shield is compromised and Nick Fury is gone.
This show is very interesting and worth seeing because the episodes relate to the movies so much and are in a way offer a sneak peek into what may happen in the next Marvel film. There aren’t many heroes from the comics in there that a lot of people would like to see such as Luke Cage, Iron fist, Spiderman or even Deadpool. However there are other Marvel characters that such as Deathlox, Mockingbird, and many more shield-related characters. The show is on ABC and airs on every Tuesday at 7 p.m.
