The staff of Indian Trail’s 2013-2014 newspaper recently won a $1,000 scholarship from the Wisconsin Newspaper Asso- ciation Foundation, competing against the state’s largest high schools.
The winning issues were published April 9, 2014, and May 22, 2014, competing in the category of “General Excellence” in the WNA’s “Better Newspaper Contest” for high schools across the state of Wisconsin. The Branen Family Foundation provided the monetary award through its scholarship program which supports excellence in student journalism programs.
The Associated Press/WNA awards convention was held on Feb. 27, 2015, at the Milwaukee Marriot West in Waukesha.
The award will be used to support Indian Trail’s journalism program.
