Riverdale brings new mysteries for fans

Many know of the hit show Riverdale, based on the Archie Comics, and are anticipated for the release of season two.

Riverdale is known for their love triangles, mystery, and the tragic death of Jason Blossom. Riverdale High School is one of the most dramatic high schools on television, where a huge portion of the show takes place as well as many other parts of the small town like the local diner, Pop’s.

Aside from the tragedy of Jason Blossom’s death, protagonist Archie Andrews played by KJ Apa, the star athlete and amatur musician, is torn between his love for music and desire to play football. The infamous couple “Bughead”, (the relationship between Betty Cooper and Jughead Jones), may be in trouble with theories speculating a new bisexual character named Toni Topaz, who will cause tension between “Bughead”; thanks to her fondness of Jughead.

Topaz won’t be attending Riverdale High School, but will be attending South Side High School, alongside Jones. Topaz is described as a smart, opinionated young woman from the South Side, basically the female version of Jughead. Fans aren’t happy about the new addition to the cast, but many are saying they’d rather see Toni have interest with Cheryl Blossom. Even though Blossom may be the most condescending and egotistical character, played by Madelaine Petsch, she still deserves a chance at love.

In Season 1, Veronica’s father Hiram Lodge didn’t make an appearance but was heavily mentioned because of his upcoming return into Riverdale. Hiram lost his wife and daughter’s trust when he went to prison and aside from that, they both blame him for their financial struggles.

In the upcoming season, Reggie Mantle played by Ross Butler, will not be returning to Riverdale but will be replaced with actor Charles Melton. Ross Butler will be busy filming Season 2 of the Netflix hit show 13 Reasons Why.

Season 2 of Riverdale is going to contain 22 episodes of dark, mysterious, and aesthetically pleasing filtered episodes of perfection.
