I grasp light until palms lace with burns,
Prints melt like wax, transforming into the unknown.
Fingertips fail to remember how they traced darkness.
I tighten my clutch around the blaze,
Welcoming warmth that tingles brittle bones.
Hands, blistered by recklessness, become numb to pain.
I feed flames, oblivious to its control.
Heat slithers up my body, corrupting every cell,
Embedding embers into flesh as it demands embrace.
Coals hiss lullabies into night,
Shadows dance against caged walls of fate,
Body stiffens as the inferno constricts.
Ribs crack.
Lungs fail.
Flames consume.
We become one.
