After eight long years, Moana and the beloved Maui are set to reunite for another thrilling adventure in the new Moana 2. The movie follows Moana after she gets a call from her ancestors to journey across Oceania. Many new characters are introduced like Moana’s little sister, Simea. The beautiful animation, paired with new music, has fans everywhere excited for what’s to come.
As we approach the release date, November 27th many recall their enjoyment of the first movie. Senior Ava Dewitt says, “I think it was a very good lesson on self-discovery and I hope that’s what they do in the next movie.”
Freshman Serena Arellano looks back on Moana, saying, “I saw the movie when I was younger and I can’t remember much of it. But I listened to the soundtrack all the time.”
The trailer for the sequel was well received, even going so far as setting a record for the most viewed animated trailer (178 million views in 24 hours). The beautiful animation paired with the new music has fans everywhere excited.
Many Hawks plan to watch it on release day. Senior Victoria Jarencio says, “The trailer for the new movie is so good. I already know the new movie is going to be great!”
Many watched the movie at a young age and looking back, it’s easy for them to fondly remember the movie. The sequel may just offer another unforgettable movie experience.
