Hair is an important part of high school and Indian Trail High School & Academy has many different styles. From long blonde hair to short blue hair, IT doesn’t seem to follow any sort of trend.
But if students wanted to pursue one, according to fashiontrendseeker. com, the style for fall 2014 and Winter 2015 is mainly ombre — colors or tones that gradually shade into each other from light to dark — but not just your natural colors.
“Ombre is no longer being played around with subtle brown and blonde hues, but rather unique and unexpected colors that will surely get you noticed,” writes Danielle Robinson in her article on fashiontrendseeker.com.
Other trends mentioned for the new year are pastel colors, shades of purple, and overall daring colors. IT has quite the pallette of colors as well. “I’ve dyed my hair almost every color of the rainbow. I’ve done red, I’ve done orange. I did green once,” said Tess Novak, a General Studies sophomore.
Her vibrant purple and turquoise hair is just one style you will see in the hallways of the school. Looking around, one will see all the colors of the rainbow.
But hair isn’t all about the colors. Other notable trends at Indian Trail include wavy hair, curls, and short cuts on girls. Some of these styles can be really easy, but others take quite a bit of time to get ready in the morning.
“I personally take 10 minutes, but my sister takes a half hour,” said Daisy Ruiz, a Communications sophomore, noting how long it takes her to style her hair.
New styles pop up every day in the hallways of IT, and it’ll be exciting to see what new trends pop up for 2015.
